Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 6, 2026
This policy explains what data UnflatVR (unflatvr.com) (“we”, “us”) handles and why. The short version: we don’t set cookies, we don’t run accounts or sign-ups, and we don’t sell your data.
1. What we collect
We don’t ask you for personal information. The site has no accounts, comments, or newsletter. Searches run in your browser. The contact and mod-request forms collect what you enter, such as your name, email, and message, and we use it only to respond to you. Mod requests are deleted after 30 days.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookie-free, doesn’t use local storage, and doesn’t fingerprint or follow you across sites. We see only totals such as page views, referring sites, country, and browser type.
Hosting and security. The site is delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and block attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser user agent, and request time. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Email. If you email us, we get your address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, and we delete it when it’s no longer needed.
2. Embedded and linked content
- YouTube videos on mod pages are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com (YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode). They load only on the page you open. If you play a video, Google/YouTube may collect data under Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Posts from X: game pages may show short excerpts of public posts and link to the originals on X. Visiting X is covered by X’s Privacy Policy.
- Outbound links go to developer pages (GitHub, itch.io, Nexus Mods, SideQuest, Meta, Patreon, and others), to game stores, and to eBay search results. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don’t control.
YouTube API Services
Our @UnflatVR channel uses YouTube API Services to manage its own comments, playlists and subscriptions, and may keep public replies to our comments. See the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
3. Affiliate links and price data
Some store links are affiliate links or creator-tagged links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission or creator payment, and it costs you nothing extra. See our Affiliate & Sponsorship Disclosure.
UnflatVR sets no affiliate cookies itself. When you click an affiliate link, the store or its affiliate network may place or read cookies, pixels, or similar technology on its own site to record that you came from UnflatVR and to credit a purchase. They are:
- Stores: GOG, Microsoft Store, Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, Humble Store, Loaded (formerly CDKeys), Eneba, and Kinguin.
- Affiliate networks: Impact, CJ Affiliate, the Eneba partner portal, and Kinguin UP.
These companies’ own privacy policies apply once you’re on their sites. We receive only aggregated reports such as clicks, sales, and commission totals, not your name, contact details, or what you personally bought. Their crediting windows vary by store (typically 7–30 days).
Steam, Epic Games Store, and eBay links are plain links. We earn nothing from them and no affiliate tracking is added.
Price data. If we show store prices, they come from the IsThereAnyDeal API. Our site requests that data itself, so no information about you is sent to IsThereAnyDeal.
4. Cookies
Today, unflatvr.com sets no cookies. Third parties may set their own cookies on their own sites when you click through to them or play an embedded video. If we ever add cookies, we’ll update this policy first (see section 6).
5. Sharing and selling
We don’t sell or rent personal information. We don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share data only with the service providers described above (Cloudflare, and YouTube or X when you use their content). Affiliate partners receive click and sale data on their own sites, as described in section 3, not from us, or when the law requires it.
6. Advertising and analytics cookies (not currently active)
Status: not active. This section applies only if we add display ads or cookie-based analytics. We’ll mark it active and update the effective date before that happens.
Once active:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and from many vendors at aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK).
- If we use cookie-based analytics such as Google Analytics, it collects usage data such as pages viewed, device, approximate location, and referrer. You can block it with your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the EU/UK, we’ll ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies. Where state law gives you the right to opt out of targeted advertising, we’ll honor that choice and Global Privacy Control signals.
- Ad partners we use will be listed here when this section becomes active.
7. Children
UnflatVR is a general-audience site and isn’t directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
8. Retention and security
Cloudflare analytics are kept only as aggregated stats. We keep emails only as long as needed to handle your request. We use HTTPS throughout the site, and access to our accounts is limited to us.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example Texas, California, other US states, the EU, or the UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of your personal data. Since we hold very little, the main thing we may have is an email you sent us. To make a request, email [email protected]. We’ll respond within the time the law requires. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.
10. Changes
We’ll post any changes here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, such as adding ad cookies, we’ll make it before turning the new feature on.
