Heading Out is Serious Sim's 2024 narrative road-trip driving game across a mythic, ever-changing America. This free mod puts you in the driver's seat in VR, with optional motion-controller steering.
Controls Drive with the triggers and left stick as on an Xbox controller, or turn on gyro steering to hold the controllers like a wheel or roll one hand to steer.

Own Heading Out for PC: the GOG version is the one tested; the Steam version should match but is unconfirmed

Notes
Test build (made on a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop's VDXR and the GOG version). BepInEx mod for stereo OpenXR VR: a default cockpit view from the driver's seat that turns and tilts with the car plus the game's own camera view, HUD icons floating by each controller, menus on a see-through floating screen, and optional gyro steering (hold both controllers like a wheel, or roll one controller). The controllers act as an Xbox controller; a real controller or keyboard still works. Depth of field, motion blur and lens distortion are turned off. No game files included.
