Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is Kojima Productions' 2008 stealth-action finale for Solid Snake. This free OpenXR mod plays the Master Collection PC build in first-person VR with tracked arms and punches.

What you need

Own the Steam Master Collection PC version of Metal Gear Solid 4 (game build 26451734, November 2026 update) with the DirectX 11 renderer

Supply your own legally owned copy; UnflatVR never hosts or links game files.

How to install

Install summary: Extract the release into the mgs4.exe folder and start the game from Steam with OpenXR running.

Notes

OpenXR first-person stereo with two-bone IK arms, manual pistol reload (Operator / Mk.II), punches, menu laser pointer, controller rumble, wrist LIFE/PSYCHE/CAMO and weapon panels, weapon and item radial menus, CQC, Solid Eye night vision and OctoCamo reset by shaking controllers. VR Settings live under Options > CONTROLS. Requires the November 2026 Steam update (build 26451734); older builds are unsupported. MIT. Developed on Quest 3. No game files included.
